Not only is it important to surround your pool with a safety fence to keep your children and family safe, we at Sure Guard Pool Fence of Phoenix also feel that it is just as important to educate yourself with the necessary knowledge to keep your family safe when playing around a pool area. It is very important to raise awareness and education regarding the danger one can face when owning a pool. We feel that education is one way to lower swimming pool accidents not only in the Phoenix area, but the nation.

All children love the water. It is a great way to burn off energy and play. But, many may not realize just how dangerous it can be, especially when they think that they are “good swimmers”. All parents need to be mindful of where there children are at all times, especially when around a pool. Because swimming is so much fun, some children may be eager to get in the water, so it is important to sit down with your children and instill family rules when encountering any kind of water or pool environment, at your home or someplace else. This way you can teach your family the importance of pool safety.

Pool Safety Tips

Accidents of any kind can occur in the blink of an eye. Not only is it important to keep a watchful eye on your children at all times, but never ever leave your children unattended when at a pool. For an added security measure, always keep a cell phone handy. Just in the event something may happen, you are fitted with a phone to call emergency services in no time at all. Also, locate and avoid pipes, drains and any space that may look unsafe. But, most importantly, it is never too early of an age to teach the importance of pool safety. Yet, do not think of this as the only measure of safety. Because accidents can happen, it is still important to be alert, watch for your children and be prepared.

Sure Guard wants all families to be safe around a pool and encourage all families, parents especially, to learn CPR and receive a basic understanding of life saving procedures so they can assist in the event of an emergency until help can arrive. But, all who frequent the pool should be skilled with knowledge to teach their children the basics in safety and behavior around open water. Also equipping small children with life vests while swimming is another great way to insure safety, while still giving them some sense of supervised freedom while swimming.

Not only is it important to arm you with knowledge and basic safety skills, but keep your pool area closed off and secure from children. Sure Guard offers high quality safety pool fence options that offer security and peace of mind. These options allow children to be blocked from the swimming area until supervised by an adult, each with self-locking gates to ensure safety.

Of course the major benefit of swimming pool safety fences is that they have been a major factor in reducing the number of child drownings in backyard pools across the US. However once you have a safety fence installed, you will realize there are many additional benefits that you have not previously thought of.

As well as keeping young children out of the pool, a safety fence also helps to keep the pool area much cleaner. You will probably find you will vacuum your pool less after installing a safety fence, and you will certainly not have to drain the water with a net so often, as leaves and other litter or debris will not be as likely to blow into the water.

If you have pets, they will not be able to fall into the water either; and even if you allow your pets to swim in the pool it is still convenient to be able to lock them out at times. A garden pool can be a magnet for wild animals that are looking for a drink. Installing a fence will keep the majority of them away.

If you host a party your house and alcohol is involved, a pool fence can stop anyone who has had one too many from accidentally falling into the water.

A swimming pool is a place for warm-weather fun, but it is also a danger zone for children who are too young to swim without adult supervision. Though a gate around a swimming pool seems like enough, the gate entrance to the pool is a risk factor. Therefore, using a self-closing gate for your pool is not only the best option, but the safest option for keeping your pool secure.

Protecting Little Children

Young children tend to wander and especially toward something they are curious about. Swimming pools are big, blue and look fun to a toddler. Though you keep your eyes on your child at all times, there are times you cannot simply be on them 24/7 and this is where pool safety is important – especially if your child likes to play outside. A self-closing gate will ensure that the gate around your pool is secure and closed at all times, regardless of who was last to use it. You can rest assured that your gate to the pool will always be closed and young children playing or wandering outside will not have access to the swimming pool area just because someone left the gate open.

Eliminating Free Use

A self-closing gate isn’t just to keep young children out of harm’s way. In fact, a self-closing gate will ensure that your pool is always close and secure when “free swimmers” decide to sneak into your backyard for a swim. Since it is your property, you are still liable for anything that happens to these “free swimmers” – regardless if they broke into your backyard to begin with. Therefore, having a self-closing, secured gate with your pool fence will protect your pool from unwanted use, but also eliminate your liability if an individual attempts to break into your pool anyway.

Keeps Out Pets

Pets wreak havoc on a swimming pools filtration system, especially when it comes to their hair. You can ensure your gate is closed with a self-closing gate to eliminate times your animals or those in the neighborhood jump into your pool. Furthermore, a closed gate will ensure your water will not become contaminated by unwanted pet users due to urine or feces – which is something no one wants to swim in.

There are multiple reasons why a person should use a self-closing gate, but the most important is security. With a self-closing gate and a Sure Guard pool safety fence you do not have to worry about friends, family or children leaving a swimming pool gate open and opening your pool to unwanted guests or exposing a risk to a young child.

The couple making the purchase wanted a removable pool fence installed before they moved into the house as they had young children.

We had to coordinate the sale and installation by phone and fax proposed drawings out of state to homowner for final approval. We sent them final pictures when completed and they loved their new Sure Guard pool fence. The homeowners said that we were the only pool fence company in Phoenix that seemed willing to work with their particular needs. We were happy to work with them and the result is a great looking pool safety fence that will provide their family the protection they deserve.

We recently had the opportunity to install a pool safety fence for a customer in the Phoenix area. This install turned out to be interesting for a couple of reasons.

First, the customer realized they needed a pool fence when they witnessed their 9 month old granddaughter crawl out the doggie door and head straight for the pool. Being responsible grandparents, they realized that while they didn’t have small children at the home often, it would be a worthy investment to install a pool fence.

One of the factors that made this pool fence unique was that the customer wanted to extend the pool fence on top of the flower garden over a retaining wall. This was to ensure that no one could find their way into the pool without an adult there to help them in.

We ended up installing a 5 foot pool fence with our patent pending self closing gate. When the job was finished, the customer was happy with the look and thrilled to know they wouldn’t have to worry about their granddaughter slipping out the back and into the pool.

Pets are a part of the family and we all want to keep them safe. While some pets enjoy swimming in the pool others are not so fond of it and may not know how to get out of the pool should they slip into it. Installing a pet guard pool fence will keep your pet out of the pool when you do not want them in there.

Like a pool safety fence for children, the pet guard pool fence is made of the same durable mesh material and must be opened either via the self closing gate or unlocking and removing a portion of the pool fence. The pet guard pool fence is not as high as a child pool safety fence and is designed specifically for keeping pets out of the swimming pool.

Installing a pet guard pool safety fence prevents any accidental falls into the pool by an animal that may not know how to swim thus preventing an accidental drowning. It also keeps animals that enjoy swimming from entering the pool when you do not want them in there. As a pet owner, I know I don’t want my dog taking a swim every time I let her out in the backyard. This would quickly become a nuisance drying her off each time before allowing her to re-enter the house. While the swimming pool is certainly for everyone’s enjoyment including the family pets, a pet guard pool fence allows the homeowner to determine when the right time for taking a swim is.

The pet guard pool fence is only for those homes without any small children.

A pool alarm sounds when there is a disturbance in the pool water alerting the homeowner. Pool alarms are designed not to sound from wind only when there is a true disturbance. Different alarms have different ways that can be bypassed for swimming with some of them requiring a passcode, a key, or removal from the swimming pool.

A pool safety fence actually creates a physical barrier to the swimming pool preventing access to the pool by anyone who is not able to either reach and open the self closing gate or unlock and remove a portion of the fence. Pool fencing is constructed out of a durable mesh that cannot be climbed by children and is too high for children to gain access over the top of it.

While a pool alarm can provide a certain layer of protection to your swimming pool, it is does not create an actual barrier to the pool. A child can easily enter the swimming pool without a parent knowing and will then have to react when the alarm sounds. If a parent is distracted doing something else they may not make it to the pool before the child is submerged. A pool safety fence prevents a child from gaining access to the swimming pool without an adult letting them in. There is no substitute for constant adult supervision around a swimming pool, however, pool fences certainly provide a greater level of protection than pool alarms.

A properly constructed and installed swimming pool safety fence can greatly reduce the possibility of a tragic drowning or near drowning of a child. There is no substitute for constant adult supervision, however, eliminating easy access to the swimming pool is another safety precaution that should always be in place when there is a child in the home. A swimming pool safety fence is a great way to eliminate the access of a child to the pool.

The construction of the pool safety fence does not allow for a child to slip through the cracks and gain access to the pool and is high enough that a child can not climb over it. Drownings occur quickly and usually when a child slips away from the adult who was watching them. By having a pool safety fence installed, you are not enabling a child to have quick and easy access to your pool and thus preventing a possible tragedy. Creating this barrier between your child and the pool allows the outside area around a swimming pool to be a fun and safe area for children to play not an accident waiting to happen.

Children in Arizona spend a great deal of time in and around water. It is their natural curiosity that leads children to enter a swimming pool without adult supervision. Making your swimming pool safe for your children is a necessity and since they are too young to understand the dangers it is imperative to create a barrier to keep them out of the swimming pool when an adult is not able to provide supervision. A swimming pool safety fence creates this barrier.

A swimming pool safety fence still allows easy access to the pool for adults and the ability to enjoy the family swimming pool with an extra layer of protection against a tragic accident.
